The Division 2’s second Raid, The Foundry, is finally ready for release. The level 40 raid is dropping June 30th and the level 30 version the week after.
It’s once again an 8-player mission that will have unique and interesting Boss mechanics that will test your agent and their gear. It will take team synergy and co-operation to prevail. Here’s what Ubi had to say about it on their website:
“Operation Iron Horse is the second raid coming to The Division 2 and once again pits groups of eight players against a new and exciting challenge. Players will need to collaborate efficiently, plan ahead and adapt to overcome the trials that lie ahead.”
With the Raid so close to release, you’ll want to be prepared. Here’s all the main details:
Raid Details - Release Date, Time etc
- Level 40 Raid – June 30th 5pm CEST / 11am ET / 8am PT
- Level 30 Raid – The week after, July 7th
- Discovery Mode will be available some time after. This mode will offer matchmaking, but not for the normal difficulty.
- You can raid with a mixture of level 30 and 40 players. The raid will scale to the highest level player. Level 30 players’ gear will scale up. Loot will drop at your gear level.
- Boss drops will happen once per week, just like the first Raid. Reset every week.
- Both level 30 and 40 Raids are free for all players. Although you will need to have purchased The Warlords of New York Expansion and finished the campaign to play the level 40 Raid.
- You travel to the raid by visiting the helicopter pilot at the Base of Operations.
The Raid Back Story
During the Black Friday Outbreak, a group of civilians took refuge in the United Ironworks of Washington DC. Later, the True Sons raided The Foundry and took control. Here they are hidden from The Division and can scheme in silence. Only now The Division has heard about what the True Sons are up to and now plan to put a stop to it!
The raid will demonstrate how ruthless the True Sons are by challenging your agent through unique Boss fights, but also by using the treacherous environment of a foundry at their disposal.
Rewards
The Raid will once again offer exclusive loot. Two weapons, the Regulus, a Revolver handgun. And the Ravenous, a double barrel rifle.
There’s also two new gear sets. The Future Initiative and the Foundry Bulwark. Each set’s chest piece and back pack are exclusive to The Foundry Raid. Although you can pick up the mask, gloves, knee-pads and holster elsewhere.
There will also be new vanity items to pick up, a range of commendations to clear and arm patches!
World's First Competition
“It’s been a long time coming and the foundry is shaping up to be one of the most challenging pieces of content we have ever released. the 8-player mission will require top of the line build performance and the pinnacle of teamwork in order to complete.”
Just like with the first Raid, Ubisoft are holding a ‘World’s First’ competition. The first team of 8, from each platform, to beat the final Boss in the new raid will win World’s First. And that will earn you and your team a plaque on the wall of the White house in game.
From the look of it, the Raid will go live at 5pm CEST June 30th, and the competition will start at 6pm. So that will give you an hour to figure things out.
That being said, Ubi stated on their original post the raid will go live at 6pm, then on a second post they said 5pm. So maybe one was a typo? Your guess is as good as mine. Here’s a link to their page on world’s first.
Ubisoft have also stated there are certain rules to adhere to. Mainly, no cheating, you have to be 18 years of age to enter and no, you don’t all need to be in the same clan.
And if anyone breaks the rules, they reserve the right to void your play through. Here’s what they said is not permitted to do during the raid:
Prohibited Actions:
- Registers to the Compettion with multiple accounts
- Colludes with other entrants to create an unfair advantage
- Uses any kind of cheats or hack
- Exploit glitches or bugs which provide an unfair advantage or which threaten the general balance or the economy of the Competition.
- Does not comply with the current Competition Terms & Conditions and / or with the Game’s Code of Conduct
- Has a behaviour which, in Sponsor’s estimation, is, before, during and / or after the Competition, unlawful, harmful, abusive, harassing, threatening, malicious, defamatory, libelous, untruthful, pornographic, obscene, vulgar, racists, xenophobic, liable to incite hatred, sexually explicit, violent, contrary to morality or is in any other way unacceptable.
