Ultimate Guide on How to Get the Nemesis Marksman Rifle | The Division 2

Hey everyone and welcome back to the blog. Today we have the ultimate guide on how to get the Nemesis marksman rifle from Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. This is an updated version on how to get the weapon, so it doesn’t matter if you’re playing the base game or you’re playing the Warlords of New York expansion. I’ve got all the info you need right here.

The Nemesis exotic marksman rifle is a very powerful weapon in The Division 2. When you aim with it, hold down the shoot button. As you do, it fills up a power bar, and as the bar fills up, the weapon damage increases. Once you’ve filled the bar to it’s max, you let go and it shoots. Increasing the power bar like this makes it such a powerful weapon and a must have exotic to find in game.

The Nemesis was added quite a while ago, but seeing as there are many newcomers to the game or people coming back, and due to the expansion, everyone’s looking for a level 40 version of the gun. So here’s a refresher course on how to get it!

There are 2 main ways to get it:

1: Targeted Loot Farming

Find a place on the map that’s targeting marksman rifles and play that until it drops. This can be open world, missions or the DZ for example. It can be a handy way to get it, but you’re playing at the will of RNG and it’s not guaranteed when it will drop. You could get it right away, or it could take you multiple times. I was very fortunate to get it on the first go, I did a level 4 control point targeting marksman rifles.

My advice would be to farm for it in a team of friends, there’s more chances for it to drop. Maybe someone will be kind enough to drop it for you. And do activities on Heroic difficulty, that’ll give you a better chance of it dropping. I’m not sure where the figures originated, but I see plenty on the forums and Twitter saying that drop chances for exotics are 1% from Normal difficulty, 3% from Hard, 5% from Challenging and 7% from Heroic. Happy farming folks!

2: The Nemesis Quest

This is a great way to get yourself a Nemesis marksman rifle because it guarantees that you’ll get one. Even though I’ve already got one, I’m still doing this anyway so that I might get a better one and / or have one for my second character. It involves finding parts of a broken up Nemesis marksman rifle and crafting it. Just make sure you don’t already have a Nemesis on you, or the parts won’t drop. You must put it in another character’s inventory first.

The Nemesis Quest is fairly easy to do, it just takes time and planning. It’s split up into four parts, the scope, the bolt, the barrel and stock. Once you get all of the parts, you then get the blueprint and craft it. You see, easy! So lets go through each step and how to get all the parts.

Step 1: Make sure you're the right level

If you haven’t bought the expansion and don’t plan on buying it, make sure you’re level 30 and up to World Tier 5. At this point the weekly invasions will be in full flow. Although I’d recommend getting the expansion, because you’re missing out on a lot of great content. If you are getting the expansion, wait until you’re level 40, because you’re going to be crafting the weapon, so it will craft at your current level and the expansion leaves you at level 40, so why would you want to craft it at level 30? Apart from that, all the next steps work exactly the same. All the parts and the blueprint you get work for both level 30 and 40 characters.

Step 2: The Tally Scope

For the first piece of the Nemesis Exotic Marksman Rifle, you need to replay Tidal Basin. You can do this on any difficulty. During the mission you’ll pick up another marksman rifle and when you break it down, you receive the first piece, here’s how to get it.

When you start the mission, play through the first two areas, then you’ll come to a smaller open area with a turret that you need to take out by shooting a small box. Manny will tell you over the mic to go into the building on your right and interact with a computer.

When you get near it, you’ll hear the sound of something dropping in the world, that’s a key, it’s upstairs. If you run upstairs you’ll see the key laying next to bunk-beds. Pick it up and you’ll use that key later to open a room that has the first piece of the Nemesis.

Continue through the mission and you’ll approach the hover craft. Fight through the hover craft and keep going to the back of the first room and go upstairs. On your left there will be a door that you’ll be able to open with your key. Inside is a weapon box. Open it and you will receive a named marksman rifle, Adrestia SR1. Break it down and you’ll receive an exotic component – The Tally Scope. You’ve just bagged yourself the first piece of the Nemesis Exotic Marksman Rifle!

Step 3: The Barrel (Scourge), The Bolt (Scales) and The Stock (Bridle)

The next step is very straight forward, but takes a little patience. Each week there’s a different stronghold under invasion by the Black Tusk (other than Tidal Basin). Play through the invaded stronghold each week on any difficulty, just make sure it’s on invaded! And the final boss will drop a part for the Nemesis Exotic Marksman Rifle.

  • Capitol Hill Invaded – Drops the Barrel: Scourge
  • Roosevelt Island Invaded – Drops The Bolt: Scales
  • Union District Arena Invaded – Drops The Stock: Bridle

Step 4: The Blueprint

You now need the final piece, the blueprint that allows you to craft the Nemesis! Once Grand Washington Hotel is invaded again, play through it on any difficulty (as long as it’s invaded), and you’ll meet the first boss in the main foyer, Code Name: Puck. This boss will drop the blueprint. It’s up to you whether or not you finish the mission, you don’t have to.

Step 5: Craft Your Nemesis

Now that you’ve got all the parts, you can craft The Nemesis! Head over to the White House (Base of Operations) or Haven (Warlords of New York only) and go to the crafting table. When you scroll down, you’ll find the Nemesis in the list and you should have all the parts you need. Now all you need to do is craft it! Happy sniping, those NPCs won’t know what hit them!
